BOOK COVER FLAP:

The characters presented in this novel are fictional.  They portray the lives of the victims, the offenders, and the courageous that experienced the chilling drama of gang carnage -- violence that, unfortunately, continues to overwhelm families and entire communities in Chicago.

The main characters are a tribute to the detectives who were assigned to the "original" Gang Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department.  These men waged a never-ending battle against Chicago Street gangs.  Years later, they were credited for convincing the department to group gang violence and related murders, developing a strategy to combat the rising increase in illicit drug sales in the city.

Through the eyes of rookie detective Myles Sivad, Race Traitors examines the violent story of gang-related brutality and its effect on Blacks during 1970's Chicago.  Throughout his journey, Myles must learn to balance love and work, as well as come to terms with what it means to be "the police" -- discovering along the way if he's really prepared to do what it takes to win a war in the streets.
